What is a Keywordkeyword-vs-subject-searching-3-638

When I first started online years ago and heard keywords, I thought it was a single word that pertained to your site.  For instance, if my site was working online, I thought my keywords would be things like – internet, online, working, website. Just single words. I mean the word was keyword or words, not phrases.  Now that I have been around I know that a keyword can be working from home online, yes the entire phrase is my key word.  Keywords are the words people type into the search box to find things online and most time people are typing phrases. A phrase also lets you target a specific audience.  The word internet will bring a broad variety of search results, whereas how can I host a website on the internet, sure narrows your results.  So think of keywords as what people search for.

Why Use KeywordsKEYWORD-RANK

The title of this page says it all, Keyword for ranking.  When someone types a search word or phrase,  search engines look for websites that match that keyword. The sites that have content that is closest to the search will rank the highest.  So if you want traffic and people to find you, you have to use keywords.  Some keywords get thousands of searches a day  and many are very competitve.  You need to really take time in researching keywords. Keywords should relate to your page, visitors often scan for the keywords they were searching for, so relating to your topic will keep the visitor reading your page.  Keywords can and will provide your business with unlimited visitors if done correctly.

How To Use Keywordshow-to-use-keywords

The most obvious place for keywords would be your title and meta tag, search engines start by searching titles and website/page descriptions. They keywords should match the search, next about the first 200 words seems to get more weight by search engines. Using Headings throughout the page or post relating to the keywords gives great value as it shows it is related to the keywords.

Caution, Over using keywords or just stuffing them everywhere will appear as spam to search engines and have the opposite effect and result in very little ranking. The goal is for your keywords to be relevant to your topic at all times.

How to Research Keywords

There are a lot of ways and tools available to research keywords, and many just give too much information and can really leave you bogged down and spending too much time trying to figure out what to use. The main things you need to consider when doing research areimages

  • Are people searching for that keyword
  • How much traffic can I expect
  • What’s the competition for that keyword
  • Is it a good keyword

That’s it, anything more and your just making things harder. This is why I like Jaaxy, simple easy to read data with a single search.
